Sarah Jessica Parker to Launch Fiction Books

Sarah Jessica Parker Sarah Jessica Parker (SJP) played the role of Carrie Bradshaw, a sex-columnist and writer, in the television series "Sex and The City" which rose her to fame. And now the actress has a new job, which is very Carrie Bradshaw.

Taking her love for books to the next level, the actress is all set to launch a new line of books named SJP for Hogarth which would be housed within the Hogarth.

SJP for Hogarth will selectively publish works of fiction by both emerging and established writers. Its first list is expected to debut in 2018, according to an official statement by Hogarth Publishing. As the Editorial Director of SJP for Hogarth, Parker would be closely involved in every aspect of the publication of books, from the selection and acquisition to cover design and promotion.

"As a lifelong book lover, as someone who treasures and admires the skill and talent of original and powerful story tellers it is my great privilege to be invited into the world and business of books. Especially thrilling to join those who serve the rich history that is Hogarth. I so look forward to offering to readers the sort of books that have inspired my life long devotion to the written word", Parker said in a statement.

Hogarth Press was originally founded by Virginia and Leonard Woolf in 1917. It was re-launched in 2012 as a partnership between Chatto & Windus in the UK and Crown in the U.S.

The development happened after Parker had a chanced meeting with Molly Stern, head of Hogarth, three years ago at a media luncheon in New York.

"From the moment we met, I was drawn to Sarah Jessica’s extraordinary passion for books and her natural instinct for what makes for great writing", said Stern.
